Burlington Civic Chorale’s Spring Concert

Don’t miss the Burlington Civic Chorale’s May 9 concert at St. Christopher’s Anglican Church, 662 Guelph Line at 7:30pm. The concert will feature Renaissance music accompanied by Laura Pin and a consort of Viol da Gambas.


A unique combination of music and rarely heard instruments will range from the early 16th century mass of Josquin, Missa Pange Linua, to the secular madrigals of Palestrina, finishing with the pivotal music of Monteverdi. Children’s Choir of Burlington Spring Concert

The Children’s Choir of Burlington will present its first annual spring concert on Friday, May 29, at 7pm at St. Christopher’s Anglican Church, 662 Guelph Line. Now in its first season, the choir will present a variety of music and styles appropriate to treble voices. The choir is eager to find new voices and invites interested children to call for an audition. Choristers receive experience in sight singing, ear training and a wide variety of music from spirituals to Broadway to classics to folksongs.

There are two levels: grades SK-3s in the Prelude Choir and ages 9 to 15 in the Main Choir.Anticipated enrollment will allow for separate elementary and intermediate/secondary choirs. Join the Top Hats at their Spring Concert

The Top Hat Marching Orchestra is pleased to present its Super Awesome Spring Concert on Saturday, May 2, at 8pm at Central High School. The Top Hats have been working on many new arrangements that we will be performing for the first time. The concert is sure to contain a mix of the march tunes that have made the band a favourite in local parades. On May 10, the Top Hats have been invited to provide some live music at the Royal Canadian Legion Convention to be held at the Burlington Convention Centre. Each Open House features a FREE introductory lesson, light refreshments, and information sessions where you can find out more about our 10-week workshops, learn-to-dance corporate and at-home party packages, school learn-to-dance programs, and much more!

Register for our Spring Workshops, which begin the week of May 11! With classes for Absolute Beginners in Ballroom and Club Dancing, danceTONE for women only, and advanced classes for returning students.

New Teacher Training Program
Television shows like “So You Think You Can Dance” and “Dancing with the Stars” have created a huge demand for teachers to instruct Ballroom and Latin dancing – from children all the way to seniors. danceScape, has recently launched its new “Teacher Training Program” to help meet the demand for qualified Ballroom Dance Instructors. The first series will focus on providing the technical skills to teach our “For Absolute Beginners Only” Ballroom Dancing workshop program.


New Pilot Fitness Programs
Dance and other movement-based physical activities transform the body and mind, and provide health benefits such as reducing the effects of aging, and dealing with stress in everyday life. As part of danceScape’s commitment to health and fitness through dance and other movement-based activities, we are in the process of launching the following new programs: danceTONE Express, danceScape Health & Fitness Testing, Alpha “Stretch & Strengthen” Program.
